Terra de Promissio

“Land of Promise” is the translation from Latin. The Terra de Promission (TDP) is a mystical 50 acres of Pinot Noir Vines planted in 2002.  Terra de Promissio has an ideal terrior for Pinot Noir grapes. The soil, southwest sun exposure, hill elevation, vine density and the wind and fog of the Petaluma Gap allow the grapes to experience a slow maturation with extended hang time—which allows optimum ripeness, uncommon depth, and color – ideal conditions for quality that results in intensely flavored grapes that makes exceptional and age-worthy wines .”

Notable wineries sourcing fruit from Terra de Promissio have included: Kistler, Hanzell,  Gary Farrell, Spell, The Calling, Williams-Selyem and Kosta Browne (which 2009 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir won Wine Spectator’s 2011 Wine of the Year).
